Overview
This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Custom Commands platform, which includes the makeown.cc website and our Discord bot ("Custom Commands", "the Bot", "we", "us", or "our"). The terms "you" and "your" refer to all individuals or entities accessing this website or using our bot.
By using our site or bot, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the data practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of the service immediately.
We may update this policy at any time. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
Information We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to deliver the service. Specifically, this includes:
Account & Authentication Data
When you sign in via Discord OAuth2 we receive your Discord User ID, username, and avatar hash. We do not receive or store your Discord password, email address, or phone number unless you explicitly share them with us.
Server (Guild) Data
To display your server list on the dashboard we temporarily fetch the list of guilds your account belongs to. We persist only the guilds where Custom Commands has been installed, storing the Guild ID, name, and icon hash.
Command Configuration
All custom commands, embeds, variables, and role-action mappings you create through the dashboard are stored to provide the service. This data belongs to you and can be deleted at any time.
Payment Data
Premium purchases are processed exclusively by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We do store a Stripe Customer ID and subscription status linked to your Discord account to gate premium features.
How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect solely to operate and improve Custom Commands. Specifically:
- Authenticate you and provide access to your dashboard.
- Execute your custom commands on Discord servers where the bot is present.
- Display your server list and command configurations on the dashboard.
- Process premium subscription states to unlock gated features.
- Diagnose errors and improve service reliability.
- Respond to support requests you initiate.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling purposes.
Data Storage & Retention
Your data is stored on servers located within the European Union. We apply industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+).
Session tokens are temporary and destroyed when you sign out or after a period of inactivity. Command configurations and account data are retained for as long as your account is active.
If you remove the bot from your server or delete your account, all associated command configurations and guild data are permanently purged within 7 days. You may request immediate deletion by contacting us via Discord.
Third-Party Services
We integrate with the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
OAuth2 authentication and bot API. Discord may collect its own data independent of Custom Commands.
Payment processing for premium subscriptions. All financial data is handled exclusively by Stripe.
Links or embeds generated by the bot may point to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their policies before submitting any personal information.
Message Content
Custom Commands requires the Message Content privileged intent to detect command invocations in Discord servers where it is installed. This means the bot can read messages in channels it has access to.
We do not store message content. Messages are read in-memory solely to match command triggers. No message text, author metadata, or channel context is persisted to our database or any external storage.
The only content we store is what you explicitly save through the dashboard — command names, response bodies, embed configurations, and role-action rules.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Right to Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to Object: Object to processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via our Discord support server. We will respond within 1 day.
Children's Privacy
Custom Commands is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. Discord itself requires users to be at least 13 years old, and we rely on Discord's age-gating as a first line of defence.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that data.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, post an announcement in our Discord support server.
Your continued use of Custom Commands after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
